Passeig de Born

The Paseo del Borne (Passeig del Born in Catalan) is a thoroughfare in the center of the city of Palma de Mallorca.

It joins Plaza de Juan Carlos I —popularly known as Plaza de las Tortugas— with Plaza de la Reina, where Antonio Maura Avenue begins. The promenade was built on the old bed of the torrent de la Riera, which used to cross the center of the city.

It consists of a central pedestrian promenade and two traffic lanes (one for each direction) on each side of the promenade. Currently, one of these is also a pedestrian zone.

On this promenade is the old Born cinema, closed in the 1980s, now converted into a Zara store, and Casal Solleric, an old palace transformed into an exhibition space.

Upon reaching the Plaza de la Reina, the promenade connects with the Paseo Marítimo and in the Plaza de Juan Carlos I, Jaime III Avenue flows, one of the main shopping areas of Palma, and Unión Street, which joins the promenade with the Ramblas. .
